The International Law Section promotes the rule of law across borders—through education, dialogue, and professional exchange. By bringing together international practitioners, foreign lawyers and law students, the international business community, and government representatives, the Section serves as a resource for the practice of public and private international law in Los Angeles and beyond.

The purposes of the International Law Section include:

• Promoting the rule of law globally.
• Furthering the knowledge of Section members, LACBA, and the public in public and private international law, comparative law, and international business transactions.
• Hosting programs that explore cross-border trade, human rights, and global governance.
• Building bridges between LACBA and professional organizations, government entities, and foreign representatives.
• Providing a forum for collaboration on issues of law, policy, and business across jurisdictions.
