PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Take a stroll through most residential neighborhoods in Los Angeles County, and you cannot miss it. In recent years, California has passed new laws aimed at encouraging the development of more accessory dwelling units (ADUs) as a means of combatting the housing crisis in this State. This has resulted in an almost overnight boom in the construction of ADUs. A new law makes it possible for homeowners to sell their ADUs separate and apart from the primary unit. But the reality of how this gets implemented, if at all, may prove to be more difficult than expected. In this program, the speaker will dive into the zoning, regulatory, and title implications.
