Program Description:
When mediation devolves into the mediator carrying offers and demands back and forth, little is added to the negotiation process and much can be lost, as positions can harden. We will consider the alternative approach of Evaluative Dialogue and cover a typical mediation, starting with briefs, the opening joint session, initial caucuses, to the concluding Mediator's Proposal. We will distill what several thousand mediations have taught us over the past 43 years.
